12th Sunday C 2010
St. Paul’s News
Summer Fayre
Many thanks to all who came along to join in the fun of our Summer Fayre last Sunday. The sun came out during mass so that some of the activities could go ahead outdoors, the children and youngsters ( and those who should know a little better!) joined in the fun. Thanks to all the stallholders for their sterling efforts. The total raised was just over £1800, but the real winner was the parish itself.
200 Club
A gentle reminder to those who have yet to pay their subscription that your numbers will not be valid if drawn in the June Summer Draw which will take place next Sunday after mass.
Collection

Church Internal Renovations
Please excuse the delay in internal work in the church. We are still assessing the feasibility of lowering the Altar and moving it forward. After my suggestions for comments a few weeks ago quite a few came forward, withy most wanting to leave the altar where it is. If that is the general feeling that we will only tidy up and improve the wooden surrounds in the sanctuary before heading on with other things. All the other renewal work depends on the above in terms of the timetable of work.
Ministers on Holiday
If you are due to minister when on holiday please arrange for someone else to take your turn. List of numbers available in the Sacristy.
Family Picnic
Some of our families are planning a family picnic after Mass on Sunday 27th June in Rozelle Park. All are welcome no need to sign up!
Booklets for the Papal Visit
The Catholic Truth Society have produced a booklet describing a range of materials for all ages to help us prepare for the Papal visit. A few copies of this catalogue can be viewed at the back of the church. Please do not take them home. If you wish to order please add to the list.
Afternoons of Prayer for the Papal visit
I intend having a couple of prayer afternoons on Sundays after Mass in September as we lead up to the visit. Reflections will be on Caritas in Veritate.
Annual Collection for Peter’s Pence
The annual collection for the Papal Charities will take place next weekend. The Church under the title “Caritas” is one of the biggest providers of aid in the Third World. Please be as generous as you can.

This is dependant on further funding from the Minerals Trust. I will be submitting an application soon. Also we have discovered dry rot under the stage and this needs to be treated as soon as possible.
